The Revenue Analyst is responsible for setting price points, controlling flight inventory, ensure that optimum settings for demand forecast and interprets and evaluates route performance and competitor activity, and work with the revenue management team and the revenue management system provider to improve the efficiency of use of the revenue management system.
Key Responsibilities
Maximize revenue by setting price points and controlling flight inventory in response to different level of passenger demand.
Ensure that large data sets are interpreted while applying market knowledge.
Participate in the daily management of flights.
Continually analyze all relevant aspects of booking data in order to optimize revenue.
Ensure that optimum settings for demand forecast, price elasticity and seasonality are set in the revenue optimization system.
Interpret and evaluate route performance and competitor activity, to present results on a regular basis and make recommendations for improving strategy.
Communicate effectively with all members of the department in line with the company’s culture guidelines.
Continually produce ad-hoc analysis of commercial and operational data that can lead to further revenue improvement or strategy changes.
Develop insightful commercial reporting that can improve commercial understanding of passenger behaviors.
. Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
Competitor Pricing Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitors' pricing strategies and market conditions to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Use this information to recommend adjustments to the company’s pricing structure.
Customer Segmentation: Understand customer behaviors and preferences by analyzing purchasing patterns, demographics, and willingness to pay. This helps in setting differentiated prices for different customer segments.
Industry Trends: Keep track of broader market trends, economic factors, and industry regulations that may impact pricing and market positioning.

Monitoring and Adjusting Pricing Strategies:
Track Performance: Continuously monitor the effectiveness of pricing strategies, analyzing sales data, customer feedback, and profitability outcomes.
Adjust Pricing: Recommend price adjustments or revisions based on market changes, competitor pricing, and performance analysis to ensure the company remains competitive while maximizing profit.
Market Sensitivity: Analyze how price changes affect customer behavior, including demand elasticity, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Technical Skills:
Data Analysis and Tools: Proficiency in data analysis software like Excel, SQL, and other data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
Pricing Software: Experience with pricing tools such as PROS, Zilliant, or Vendavo to model and optimize pricing strategies.
Statistical Analysis: Strong understanding of statistical concepts such as regression analysis, price elasticity, and demand forecasting.
Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial statements, cost structures, and profit margins to make pricing decisions that align with business goals.
