- Collect patient information/history taking vitals and performing screenings per provider guidelines.
- Use sterile technique to prepare procedure rooms and surgical trays.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures in adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Obtain a pertinent patient history and physical communicating the information back to the dermatologic surgeon. Describe removal of the lesion repair options and postoperative wound care.
- Assist with documentation in EMR.
- Record manage and update malignant and nonmalignant pathology results in log.
- Drape and prepare surgical site while maintaining sterile field numb surgical site by injecting local anesthesia achieve hemostasis using handheld cautery device bandage patients appropriately based on surgical site.
- Assist physician during all procedures (passing instruments blotting cutting sutures etc).
- Additional direct patient care responsibilities available with experience.
- Opportunities for clinical research and may be available for interested students.
