the Receiving Inspector will be responsible for evaluating incoming goods to ensure they meet aviation safety and regulatory standards. This position involves inspection, documentation, and decision-making to maintain the highest quality and safety standards within our operations.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate the condition of incoming goods by inspecting packaging, labeling, and attached documentation to ensure compliance with aviation safety and regulatory standards.
Identify and document damages, defects, or discrepancies in received items and initiate corrective actions or reporting procedures.
Verify accuracy and compliance of accompanying documentation, such as certificates of authenticity, conformity, modification status, and quality assurance documents.
Make decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of received goods based on established quality criteria.
Oversee processes for handling non-conforming or rejected items, including coordinating returns, replacements, or corrective actions.
Enter inspection results and related information into databases or record-keeping systems.
Generate reports detailing inspection outcomes, non-conformances, and other relevant data.
1. Inspection of Incoming Goods
Inspect Deliveries: Perform physical inspections of incoming shipments to ensure that materials, goods, or products match the purchase order or delivery documentation (e.g., packing lists, invoices, specifications).
Check for Damages or Defects: Examine goods for any visible damage, defects, or discrepancies such as broken packaging, incorrect labeling, or missing items. Document and report any issues found during the inspection.
Verify Quantity: Ensure that the quantity of items received matches the ordered quantity by counting items and comparing with the purchase order or delivery receipt.
2. Documentation and Record-Keeping
Maintain Inspection Records: Accurately document all inspection results, including details of any discrepancies, defects, or non-conformances found in the goods. Ensure records are complete and comply with internal procedures for traceability and accountability.
Update Inventory Systems: Enter the results of inspections into inventory management systems, noting whether goods have passed or failed inspection and ensuring that only approved items are moved to inventory.
Generate Reports: Create reports for management, procurement, and quality control teams, highlighting any issues with received goods, actions taken, and any follow-up requirements.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Goods Inspector.
In-depth knowledge of aircraft technical documentation (e.g., ATA 49, 7x, 8x).
Familiarity with part certification regulations (GACA, EASA, FAA).
Understanding of company processes and procedures applicable to the work environment and personnel.
Minimum General Secondary Education Certificate or Technical and Vocational Training degree.
Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification is mandatory.
Knowledge of IATA safety and regulatory compliance.
Expertise in handling Hazardous Materials, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and Suspected Unapproved Parts.
Awareness of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols.
Excellent attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Verify Compliance: Ensure that all incoming goods meet the required specifications, standards, and quality controls set by the company or regulatory agencies. This includes checking labels, certifications, and documentation for compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, FDA regulations).
Check for Certification and Documentation: Verify that the correct certificates, such as test reports, quality control certifications, or compliance documents, are provided for regulated products or materials.
