Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with flyadeal standards and GACA regulations within the Maintenance and Engineering departments. This role involves conducting surveillance, auditing documentation, managing discrepancies, and implementing quality improvement initiatives to maintain the highest operational standards.

Responsibilities

Surveillance and Monitoring

  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc surveillance of Maintenance and Engineering department activities.
  • Ensure compliance with flyadeal standards and GACA regulations.
  • Monitor proper usage, tagging, calibration, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Verify adherence to safety and environmental standards across all operational activities.

Documentation Review

  • Audit technical records, including work orders, defect logs, maintenance logs, and material certifications.
  • Validate accuracy, completeness, and compliance of documentation with regulatory and flyadeal standards.

Discrepancy Management

  • Identify, document, and log non-conformities and discrepancies in AMOS.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Track and analyze trends in findings to recommend systemic improvements.

Quality Improvement Initiatives

  • Partner with internal teams to implement process improvements and reduce recurring issues.

Reporting and Coordination

  • Prepare detailed quality control reports for submission to the Senior Manager.
  • Share findings and recommendations with stakeholders to enhance operational standards.
  • Quality Inspection and Testing

  • Inspect Incoming Materials: Examine raw materials or components to ensure they meet the required specifications before being used in production. Ensure compliance with the company's material standards and supplier agreements.
  • Conduct In-Process Inspections: Regularly inspect and monitor products during the manufacturing or production process to ensure adherence to quality standards. This includes identifying defects or issues in real-time.
  • Perform Final Product Inspections: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications before they are shipped out.
  • Test Products: Carry out tests on samples or finished goods to ensure functionality, performance, durability, and safety. This could involve testing under different conditions or performing stress tests to check reliability.
  • Non-Destructive Testing: Perform non-destructive tests (e.g., ultrasonic, X-ray, or visual inspection) to evaluate product integrity without damaging it.

Desired candidate profile


Minimum of 10 years in aviation maintenance or 5 years in aviation maintenance quality.
Bachelor’s degree in an aviation-related field or equivalent.
Proficiency in aviation regulations, including GACA, EASA, or FAA standards.
Expertise in AMOS or similar maintenance software.
Strong data analysis skills for identifying trends and improving processes.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Problem-solving and analytical mindset.
Quality Control Process Improvement
Identify Defects and Issues: Investigate causes of defects, inefficiencies, or inconsistencies in products and processes. Identify root causes through methods like Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Fishbone diagrams.
Propose Improvements: Work with the production team to recommend solutions for quality issues, process inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with engineers or process managers to design and implement corrective actions.
Suggest Process Enhancements: Continuously review and improve quality control processes to enhance efficiency and product consistency, including introducing new tools, equipment, or techniques.
Monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): Ensure that corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and maintained effectively to prevent recurring defects.
