Integration Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

The Integration Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless compatibility and communication between various systems. This role requires providing technical support to both internal teams and external stakeholders while maintaining robust system integration processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the end-to-end flow for API integration (PSS) with OTAs for existing and new agencies.
• Perform a range of software and programming tasks to ensure seamless system integrations.
• Develop, update, and maintain technical and end-user documentation.
• Debug, test, and refine software applications to support business units and functions.
• Provide back-end support for Navitaire (PSS)-related activities.
• Manage business applications, ensuring integration of Group tool features with third-party systems and PSS to meet evolving business needs.
• Support GOLIVE activities and ensure smooth operations for related portals.
• Address enterprise custom requirements using domain-driven design, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze system requirements effectively.
• Maintain data integrity and security during system-to-system data transfers.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and services to manage ancillary integrations.

• System Integration Design

• Design Integration Solutions: Collaborate with business and technical teams to design integration solutions that meet the requirements of the organization. This includes creating blueprints for how systems, applications, and data will interact.
• Define Integration Strategies: Develop strategies for integrating new and existing systems, ensuring that all components work together efficiently and effectively. This may include using middleware, APIs, or custom connectors.
• Integration Architecture: Work on developing the technical architecture for integrating systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Identify appropriate integration patterns and technologies to meet the business needs.

• 2. Development and Implementation

• Develop Integration Code: Write, test, and maintain integration code to connect different systems and platforms. This could involve using tools and languages like REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, or middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or TIBCO.
• Custom Integration Solutions: Develop custom solutions for integration where off-the-shelf options are not available or suitable. This includes scripting and configuring connectors, APIs, and data exchange protocols.

Desired candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in API integration and development.
• Strong knowledge of web services, including REST, JSON, SOAP, and XML.
• Proficiency in technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
• Understanding of cyber security fundamentals and practices.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking with expertise in troubleshooting and debugging complex applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with cloud architecture, software, and system development processes.
• Deep understanding of design patterns, system architecture, and testing practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft technologies.
• Strong communication skills with a calm and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
