Strengthening school leadership and teacher capacity building creating a digital ecosystem and learning environment in schools equipping middle school students with confidence and skills of communicative English upskilling teachers to provide Foundational Literacy & Numeracy skills and supporting districts in building and running Model Schools these are key interventions run by KEF. KEF launched the Kotak Kanya Scholarship in 2021 to offer financial and academic support to meritorious girl students in pursuit of higher education from all over India. Kotak Junior Scholarship supports meritorious students from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in pursuing 11th and 12th standards. KEFs Vocational Education & Livelihood Project upskills unemployed youth from economically weaker sections of society and coaches them in domain knowhow the basics of IT and spoken English life skills and personality development. It ensures placements for all eligible participants so they can stride with confidence into any professional sphere.
KEF is now at the cusp of change as it prepares for the next chapter in its journey toward empowering the youth with quality education and livelihood. Armed with its vast experience and expertise the organisation now aims to scale its depth as well as the breadth of its reach. KEFs philosophy is evolving from school as a unit to working toward district/statelevel education transformation. Kotak Education Foundation is the primary implementing agency for the CSR initiatives of Kotak Mahindra Group in Education. Kotak Karma is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) identity of Kotak Mahindra Group Companies.
Role & responsibilities:
Assessment and monitoring design
- Support the state governments/technical partners in developing assessment and monitoring tools for ECE classrooms such as assessment banks classroom observation tools
Capacity building
- Support the capacity building of state academic officials to review and develop curricular and instructional material for ECCE design training plans for various levels of stakeholders & conduct continuous professional development workshops in multiple formats and monitor progress on goals
Implementation quality
- Regularly observe classrooms participate in government meetings to gather data on program implementation and create qualitative reports (monthly quarterly and annually)
Curriculum and instructional design
- Support the state governments/technical partners in designing/quality assuring curricular and instructional materials such as learning progression lesson plans student worksheets teacher guides teacher training modules
Planning Monitoring and Communication of the Project execution
- Develop Annual Learning and growth Plans for the team
- Work Closely with MIS and M & E Team for regular data point updates and keep refreshing plans as per requirement
- Submit monthly/quarterly reports/ presentations of progress and gap analysis in input output processes and financial Budget to the management
- Regularly communicate about project progress to stakeholders within Ensure program quality through assessment design development
Financial Management
- Preparing and managing budget for the project in consultation with the Deputy Project Head Responsible for implementing activities in accordance with project or activity budgets Track the disbursals in alignment with the budgeted amounts
- Conduct due diligence and checks for budgeting efficacy financial planning effectiveness across program
Stakeholder management
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders (internal & external) and field teams on regular basis to drive project outputs
People Management / Team Management
- Lead and guide the team in accomplishing set goals in time
- Provide mentorship for the team and provide guidance in career progress and selfdevelopment Collaborate with HR in consultation with the Deputy Project Head on retention of key talent and succession planning for building a strong second line of leadership across program
Candidate specifications: Educational qualification
- Strong academic background (Bachelor / Masters degree) with a specialization in early childhood education (ECCE) from leading Indian / International academic institutions
- Teaching qualifications certifications or fellowships such as Diploma in TFI/CENTA will be preferred
Years of experience
- 10 years of leadership experience in Pre Primary & Primary grade extensive teaching
- Teaching experience children in the early childhood (36 years) age group (Experience in teaching in a government or low cost private school setting is preferred)
- Curriculum development & instructional design experience (for ECE) including designing Learning Outcome progressions Lesson Plans/Teacher Guides Teaching and Learning aids Worksheets
- Experience in designing and delivering training coaching program implementation & capacity building programs for teachers and teacher coaches/administrators especially in mainstream/lowskill context
- Knowledge and experience in Edutech and project management would be an added advantage
Age 35 and above
Work skills
- Strong command on spoken and written Marathi Hindi & English Robust knowledge of the most recent relevant policies regulations theories and practices
- Thorough understanding of school curriculum for the public / private sector Good presentation skills
- Proven ability to cultivate and steward relationships with partner schools

Hours of work
08:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Working conditions
There are two week offs in a month apart from casual and privilege leaves. This job will also involve working in challenging community areas with infrastructural and other disadvantages.
Travel requirements
Travel to project locations to attend workshops conferences donor meetings other stakeholder meetings (approx. 20% time).
