We’re searching for a dedicated Food & Beverage Runner to join our energetic team and help us deliver exceptional service!
Responsibilities:
Deliver food and drinks to tables promptly and accurately.
Assist servers with order retrieval and table setup.
Ensure the dining area remains clean and organized throughout service.
Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to streamline service.
Assist with stock management and restocking supplies as needed.
Provide friendly and attentive service to all guests.
1. Delivering Food and Beverages
Food Delivery: Ensure that food orders are delivered from the kitchen to the appropriate guest tables in a timely and efficient manner.
Beverage Delivery: Deliver drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, to customers as requested by waitstaff or bartenders.
Correct Orders: Ensure that the correct food and beverages are delivered to the correct table by double-checking orders before leaving the kitchen or bar.
Serving Dishes: Serve food and beverages in an organized manner, ensuring that plates, glassware, and utensils are handled properly.
2. Assisting with Food Preparation and Setup
Plating Assistance: Assist the kitchen staff with plating food when needed, ensuring it is visually appealing and meets the restaurant's presentation standards.
Setting Up Tables: Help with the setup of dining tables, ensuring that they are clean and properly arranged before guests arrive, with the correct number of utensils, napkins, and glassware.
Ensuring Cleanliness: Make sure that food delivery areas are tidy and clean, maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
3. Collaborating with Kitchen and Waitstaff
Communication with Kitchen Staff: Communicate with the kitchen to confirm orders, resolve any issues, and ensure timely food delivery. Stay informed about any special dietary requests or modifications.
Working with Waitstaff: Coordinate with waiters and waitresses to ensure that food and beverages are delivered promptly and that any guest requests are handled efficiently.
Clearing Tables: Help clear tables once guests have finished their meals by removing empty plates, glasses, and utensils, and ensuring the area is prepared for new guests.
4. Maintaining Order and Cleanliness in Service Areas
Kitchen Organization: Help organize the kitchen's expediting area to ensure food is ready for delivery and remains at the correct temperature until it’s served.
Clearing and Restocking: Assist with restocking condiments, beverages, napkins, and other supplies needed for service.
Waste Management: Ensure any waste or leftover food is disposed of properly in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
5. Guest Service and Satisfaction
Assist with Special Requests: Respond to guest requests for additional items (e.g., extra condiments, napkins) and assist waitstaff in meeting guest needs.
Customer Interaction: While primarily focused on delivery, F&B runners may interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any immediate concerns.
Monitoring Food Quality: Ensure that food and beverages are served at the correct temperature and in an appropriate manner, checking with guests for feedback as needed.
Previous experience in food service or hospitality
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
Health and Safety Compliance
Food Safety: Ensure that all food handling and service practices comply with health and safety standards, including proper handling of hot food, avoiding cross-contamination, and ensuring hygiene.
Safe Transportation: Transport food and beverages safely between the kitchen, bar, and dining area, being mindful of spills, breakage, or damage.
Skills Required:
Speed and Efficiency: Ability to quickly and efficiently deliver food and beverages while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring correct orders are delivered to the right guests and that food is served at the right temperature and presentation.
Good Communication: Ability to clearly communicate with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations and address guest needs.
Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long periods, carry heavy trays, and move quickly in a busy environment.
Customer Service: A positive and friendly attitude, as F&B runners may interact with guests and assist in ensuring a positive dining experience.
Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, such as delivering food to several tables, assisting with clearing dishes, and restocking supplies.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other members of the food and beverage team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
