Job Description

Hybridbased position in our Syracuse NY office.

Your new role

As our new Consultant you will contribute to multiple different projects under the direction of senior geologists/engineers.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinate and perform field tasks as part of environmental investigation and remediation projects at primarily industrial / hazardous waste sites primarily in Upstate New York and the NYC Metro area. Field tasks may include sampling (soil groundwater sediment and/or air); subcontractor oversight (drilling monitoring well installations etc.); site reconnaissance etc.
  • Work with project coordinators/managers using interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed on time and budget.
  • Completion of detailed field documentation such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms project field forms/reports field notes and chainofcustody forms.
  • Contribute to preparation of work plans reports and other documentation; perform analytical data management; and assist in technical evaluations of data commensurate with technical skills.
  • Individual must be capable of completing field work (estimated at 75% and overnight travel) with limited supervision. Opportunities for additional responsibilities through continued growth and experience.

About you

  • B.S. or M.S. in Geology Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • 5 years of technical and field investigation experience including soil/groundwater sampling soil excavation oversight well installations/development soil vapor/indoor air sampling subcontractor oversight remedial activities and other related techniques under state and federally regulated programs
  • Certification of completion of the OSHA 40hour HAZWOPER with a current 8 hour refresher.
  • Ability to work with a variety of field meters/test kits instruments pumps data loggers and other equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail quality and safety.

At Ramboll your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $66000 $77000.  Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range depending on numerous factors including experience geographical location internal equity market conditions education/training and skill level and does not include bonuses overtime or other forms of compensation or benefits.
