Job Description

The Role:
We are seeking Senior Medical Registrars who are passionate about pursuing General and Acute Care Medicine Advanced Training for 2025, your opportunity to join an accredited Level 3, large teaching hospital, with a strong physician training program.

  • Salary package up to $183,000
  • Accredited for 24 months core and 12 months of non-core training at our site. Trainees entering the program at year 1 or year 2 will be given the option of a 2-year contract.
An excellent training program with exposure to Core General Medicine and Core General Medicine related rotations (e.g.RAMU) and major medical sub-specialties in a well-established program that includes 6-month terms in Respiratory Medicine, Nephrology, Stroke/Neurology, Cardiology and Gastroenterology. All these units have accredited advanced training registrars in their discipline as well.

The Advanced Training program has been developed for trainees to have access to subspecialties that meet all core training requirements including 12 months of core training in General Medicine and 12 months core subspecialty terms.

Currently a few more opportunities available in Core General Medicine and Nephrology. There is a potential to offer 6-12months rotation in Nephrology and 6 month rotation in General & Acute Care Medicine commencing from 3rd February 2025 for trainees entering Advanced Training or continuing training from other hospitals.

The Hospital:
The Hospital is the tertiary referral centre for the state, it provides a hospital service for a catchment of 250,000. The $689 million redevelopment has transformed Australia s second oldest hospital into a state-of-the-art health facility for generations of the locals to come.

The Location:
The waterfront cafes, restaurants and studios of the State s largest city are housed in centuries-old, converted warehouses that overlook a harbor bustling with yachts and fishing boats. An active arts scene, vibrant nightlife and leisurely daytime pace add to the city s charm.

Qualifications required:
General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
