This role has been established to improve the delivery of UGI, HPB, and Bariatric surgical services. The clinical work in this role will involve outpatient and elective services in the relevant specialty and sub-specialty fields, as well as acute / emergency cases as part of the Department of General Surgery’s Emergency Surgical Unit (ESU).
The successful candidate would also be involved in training of registrars, junior medical officers and students. There are also opportunities to be involved with other teaching, research, and administrative activities.
- Allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $28,389 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 pro rata per annum.
- Relocation allowance.
- On call allowance % of Base Salary.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- And subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
- You will also have access to accommodation and relocation costs.

Essential Requirements:- Holds specialist registration; or
- Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway
- Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.
