Provides a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs. Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their requirements through gathering documenting and analyzing business needs and requirements.
General Skills
Exceptional communication skills to be able to lead and facilitate Joint Analysis and Design (JAD) sessions in order to assess clients business problems/opportunities and documents the business requirements in such a way that I&IT solutions can be determined. As well to be involved in facilitating User Acceptance Testing and mapping requirements to System test plan. Ability to customize presentations and documentation to various user base. Excellent team player with exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
Familiar with working in a Project environment and all phases of the project and software development lifecycle in highly regulated industries with complex business rules policies and statutes in government and experience in the Ontario Public Service. Understanding of Ontario Digital Service Standards and meeting Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
Ability to prepare a variety of Business Analysis documents and artefacts such as but not limited to the following list: Business Requirements Documents Use Case Models User Stories Business Architecture Business Process Workflow Diagrams System Analysis Non functional requirements Wireframes and Mockups Business Cases Business Rule definition Requirements traceability.
Experience with writing requirements for procurements
Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills. Experience with a wide range of methods tools and techniques for business analysis such as: business functional modelling business event modelling business process mapping Experience in structured object oriented and agile methodologies for user requirements.
Expert in information and data management including preparing data models and conceptional/logical/relational data modeling and data flow diagrams. Ability to translate business and data requirements into specifications sufficient for designing appropriate technology solutions
Business Analytical Skills and Competencies (50%)
Responsible for gathering and documenting the business requirements and ensuring that the
deliverables produced by the development effort conform to the business requirement.
Leads and conducts business analysis in order to assess clients business problems/opportunities
and document the business requirements in such a way that technology solutions can be
determined.
Promotes business improvements through alternative service delivery approaches.
Leads and conducts business analysis at varying levels of detail appropriate to the project and
phases of project aligning with OPS Unified Project Management Methodology Enterprise
Architecture and Gating Process and OPS Standard Systems Development Methodologies.
Conducts business modeling; use case modeling; conceptual and logical data modeling; process
and data flow modeling; use case surveys; business rules definition and nonfunctional requirements definition for assigned projects.
Drives the user acceptance testing process including preparation of acceptance criteria review of the test plans and scenarios review of test results as well as end to end testing. In some cases the Business Analyst also executes test cases and directly ensures system integrity.
Develop and design deliverables including (and not limited to) integration requirements data modeling schemas and design documentation as well as the businesss implementation and
conversion strategies and plans.
Facilitation Communication and Collaborative Skills (50%)
Proven business leader with excellent facilitation skills and ability to lead requirements gathering sessions with all types of business leaders and be able to guide conversations to determine business needs define problem statements develop thorough requirements at a high level and at a detailed level
Act as liaison for crossfunctional team including vendor and business partners.
Organize business and internal team meetings to identify and validate business and
system requirements.
Identify and quantify risks relevant to business and systems requirements delivery
timelines and quality.
Coordinate and communicate various aspects of the project including producing status
reports meeting minutes issue logs and informing crossfunctional teams of decisions and progress.
Monitor progress resolves problems and reports regularly to I&IT management and
clients decision makers.
Schedule and mediate team meetings follow up on issues obtain concurrence from
project stakeholders on completion of documented deliverables.
