You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOur client a leading boutique law firm specializing in Commercial Litigation with a focus on Construction is seeking a Senior Paralegal for a 14month maternity leave contract. The firm based in West Vancouver has a strong reputation in Contract and Procurement Development Contract Security Dispute Resolution and Corporate Transactions. They collaborate closely with clients through all phases of construction projects supporting their goals and successfully representing them at all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada.

Contract Term: 14 months
Salary: $90000 per year

Draft review analyze and file pleadings agreements contracts and court documents
Assist with case management and litigation preparation (mediation arbitration Examinations for Discovery trials etc.)
Maintain a bringforward system for key dates and limitation periods
Prepare and produce lists of documents/affidavits of record in Everlaw
Process incoming lists of documents and affidavits from opposing counsel
Draft and file land title documents and perform related research
Book chambers and trial dates
Conduct legal research on court and land rules
Correspond with clients opposing counsel courts and the Land Title Office (LTO)
Perform various searches (land court bankruptcy PPR corporate)
Maintain file checklists (pleadings and land documents)
Provide leadership and manage administrative tasks (photocopying scanning)
3 to 5 years of paralegal experience ideally in construction litigation (litigation experience in other areas will be considered)
Completion of a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) program or equivalent practical experience
Strong knowledge of BC Supreme Court Civil Rules court procedures and filing deadlines
Exceptional time management organizational and multitasking skills
Proven ability to work independently manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
A clientcentered approach with a commitment to excellent service
Strong work ethic initiative and resourcefulness
Availability to work overtime if required
Proficiency in O365 Adobe BC Online MyLTSA and general Windows applications
Expertise in Adobe for OCRing text searching editing redacting and hyperlinking PDF documents
