Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineer in Orlando FL. This position is responsible for managing controls engineering project requirements including control system design DCS/PLC programming control panel design instrumentation checkout support and startup assistance. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a multidisciplined environment and effectively communicate with engineers designers and drafters.

Skills

  • Proficiency in DCS/PLC control system design and programming (i.e. DeltaV Experion 800xA)
  • Experience with instrumentation and controls/PLC system design (i.e. Allen Bradley Modicon Siemens)
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Ability to perform system design calculations and analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office environments

Responsibilities

  • Design develop and implement DCS/PLC control systems to meet process requirements
  • Develop documentation including Theory/Description of operation and detailed control system design
  • Conduct system design calculations and analyses
  • Interface with facility design to optimize panel location and maintenance
  • Assist with startup and debugging of integrated systems
  • Act as a technical lead on projects guiding lowerlevel engineers and technicians
  • Manage smaller projects ensuring deadlines and project scope are met

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (related experience may substitute for degree)
  • 5 years of experience in Ethernetbased control systems safety systems and DCS programming preferred
  • Experience with instrumentation and controls/PLC system design required
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD desired
  • Knowledge of contract documents specifications and system design functions
