Job Description

The Role:

DESCRIPTION:

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full time Legal Secretary to help provide highlevel administrative support to our attorneys. This role requires strong attention to detail great organizational and analytical skills and a strong client service attitude. Successful candidates will be personable responsive and proactive. This position will be located in our Houston office and report to the Houston Office Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster an environment of superior client service collaboration and teamwork;
  • Provide daytoday administrative support to our attorneys;
  • Work closely with the Client Development & Marketing (CDM) team to understand the practice groups offerings clients and markets. Provide administrative support to the CDM function of the practice group as needed;
  • Coordinate new matter openings and obtain conflict waivers;
  • Coordinate meetings assist in organizing client events/seminars travel arrangements appointments and conferences;
  • Coordinate with the Billing team on billing matters;
  • Enter attorney time into the Firms billing system (InTapp);
  • Type edit proofread and finalize documents;
  • Create maintain and manage files;
  • Prepare expense reports;
  • Maintain attorney contacts in the Firms Client Relationship Management Software (InterAction);
  • Maintain attorney biographies as needed;
  • Collaborate with resources inside and outside the Firm as appropriate to complete projects or tasks;
  • Provide backup coverage for other secretaries as needed; and
  • Perform other administrative functions and duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.  Associates degree or equivalent training preferred.
  • 5 years of related legal or executive secretarial experience in a law firm or professional services firm.
  • Must have a high level of typing accuracy at a minimum of 60 wpm. 
  • Must possess excellent organizational and client service skills.
  • Must have a proactive and positive approach.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fastpaced and growing environment.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned including working outside the core business hours as needed.
  • Must be independently and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $75000 $95000. The actual salary will be commensurate with the candidates qualifications and relevant experience.
