The Opportunity Legal Assistants in our Employment practice work closely with attorneys and partners in our Wage & Hour Class Action (PAGA) group. We are looking for experienced assistants with proven experience managing and tracking a high volume of cases and ensuring deadlines and court dates are met. They also draft finalize and assemble notices and communicate case status to clients with additional duties based on experience.
Responsibilities
Professionally communicate with clients experts courts and defense counsel
Prepare documents for filing in both state and federal courts including pleadings motions complaints and other legal documents
Manage and calendar court deadlines
Propound and respond to discovery
Maintain organized case files
Support our attorneys in all phases of litigation
Typing 40wpm
Qualifications
At least three years of experience as a Legal Assistant at an employment law firm
Trial preparation experience helpful
Working knowledge of employment law and state and federal filing
Ability to act independently and in a teambased environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confident in a paperless work environment
Knowledge of eFiling and California rules
Trial preparation experience strongly preferred.
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Type at least 40 wpm
Benefits
This is an hourly position with an annualized range of $52000$85000 annually based on experience.
