Material Handler 4

Primary Function of Position

The primary priority for this person is to manage warehouse functional area(s). This person has significant experience in warehouse operations technical skills (equipment operation counting space utilization handling efficiency) indepth knowledge of ISIs inventory management systems and software (Agile SAP WMS) proven interpersonal and communication skills. This person would work closely with fellow team members Engineers and the supervisor to achieve team performance goals in the areas of safety quality and performance.  Goals are set in each of these areas for each quarter and overall team performance is measured against them.

Essential Job Duties

• Receiving: Receiving materials physically and systemically to be used in production operations and engineering projects.
• Parts Putaway: Physically and systemically moving approved Production materials from IQC staging areas into SMKT storage locations. (Totes and Bulk)
• Supermarket (SMKT)
• Parts Replenishment: Pointofuse parts replenishment for designated production lines.
• MT: Fulfilling and transacting MT requests received either electronically or via hard copy.
• Sales Order Fulfillment: Fulfilling and transacting Sales Orders and Service Transfer Orders.
• Packout: Packing System carts FRUs and internalplant transfers.
• Monitor teammember performance (safety quality performance attendance) and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Create and distribute daily warehouse reports that includes performance to plan quality issues and equipment issues.
• Establish goals for each functional area and coordinate job rotations.
• Prepare and present weekly warehouse metric performance reports.
• Frequently interacts with management and other functional groups involving cross functional matters. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
• Crosstrain or mentor others in areas of expertise (as needed).
• Must learn and comply with training guidelines and act as a deputy trainer for the staff.
• Participate in training meetings and provide training plan for employees to ensure job rotation.
• Is seen as subject matter professional and mentor.  Influences and models best leadership where others follow and are not managed.  Often called to drive efforts or projects without oversight.
• Purposefully participate in quality improvement initiatives with Engineering and Quality teams
• Support various Lean Manufacturing initiatives that involve a warehousebased team.
• Review and disposition discrepant material.  Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
• Review existing operational and process discrepancies in the warehouse and provide technical expertise to improve procedures
• Follow all corporate regulatory safety and production policies and procedures.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record.
• Support goals for respective warehouse cell.

Qualifications :

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient in training/mentoring other Material Handlers.
• Proficient in Agile and/or SAP.
• Proficient at quality record documentation.
• Proficient in training/mentoring other Material Handlers.
• Inventory control experience (cycle counting physical inventories) preferred.
• Proficient at quality record documentation.
• Demonstrates leadership and communication ability.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic operational methods of assemblies upon which training has been completed.
• Demonstrates ability to diagnose possible root cause failure modes of warehouse transactions.

Required Education and Training

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of Material Handling experience or a minimum of 1 year of manufacturing warehouse/assembly ISI experience.
• Prefer Intuitive Surgical Material Handler 3 or Tech 4 but must be in good standing for at least the past 12 months or as established by area Production Manager.  Areas that will be considered are attendance conduct productivity synergy and quality.
• Proficient in Agile and/or SAP.
• Must be recommended for promotion from the area Warehouse Manager and Management team.  Promotion approval may be subject to interview process.

Working Conditions

• Ability to lift material up to 50 lbs.
• Experience and/or certification in operating materialhandling equipment preferred.
• Extensive walking and repetitive physical motion (squatting bending lifting climbing ladders) is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Inventory control experience (cycle counting physical inventories) preferred.
• Demonstrates leadership and communication ability.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic operational methods of assemblies upon which training has been completed.
• Demonstrates ability to diagnose possible root cause failure modes of warehouse transactions.
