We are currently looking for an experienced HDD Welder to work alongside our existing HDD site teams across the UK.
As a HDD Welder you will be responsible for performing welding tasks related to Horizontal Directional Drilling operations. This includes welding and fabricating parts for HDD equipment ensuring that all welding work is carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with industry regulations and company safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding tasks including butt socket and fusion welding for HDD equipment and pipelines. This includes preparation and maintenance of welding equipment.
Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of welded joints and equipment to ensure they meet required safety and quality standards. Identify and rectify any welding defects.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations onsite ensuring that all welding activities are performed safely. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and service welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding activities including materials used welding procedures and inspection reports.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with HDD operators engineers and other team members to ensure seamless project execution. Provide technical support where needed.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest welding techniques and industry standards. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve weldingrelated issues during HDD operations to prevent delays and ensure quality.
Skills and Experience:
Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in welding tasks.
ProblemSolving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve welding issues quickly.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
Certification: NVQ Level 3 in Welding or equivalent certification.
Experience: Welding experience preferably in the HDD or construction sector.
Welding Techniques: Proficiency in various welding techniques such as MIG TIG and Arc welding.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of HDD equipment and related welding procedures.
Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with British Standards and Eurocodes related to welding and pipeline construction.
Driving License: Full UK driving license required.
