Job Description
About the role:
You will be the cloud infrastructure expert for our Software as a Service (SaaS) applications advising on maintaining infrastructure and supporting data processes. This position will work closely with the VP of Engineering to meet the needs of the SaaS solutions develop CI/CD processes and ensure knowledge retention within the organization.
Additionally you will lead system administration for security compliance and monitoring best practices using modern techniques and standards to support data privacy and compliance across internal and external infrastructure.
Essential Functions:
- Understand the companys technical vision and contribute to developing strategies goals and policies to ensure smooth and effective technology operations.
- Manage daily administration of AWS cloudbased web and database systems document processes and train team members on basic administrative tasks.
- Perform server modifications and system administration tasks including data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Manage development/staging and production environments for select systems and oversee development environments for all SaaS systems.
- Collaborate with external vendors on system administration tasks.
- Automate routine administration processes including CI/CD pipelines and data import processes.
- Stay updated on trends in the technology sector with a focus on AWS systems administration and office technology.
- Act as a steward of the technical team ensuring adherence to standards in technical operations and development (both internal and external).
- Implement changes and updates to support risk mitigation and follow risk mitigation processes.
- Evaluate software development and integration workflows and implement improvements to streamline operations.
- Advise on new technology opportunities and costsaving measures to support business growth.
- Work with data scientists and machine learning engineers to improve tools and workflows for AI/ML training and inference needs.
Competencies/Required Skills:
- Proficient in Amazon Web Services hosting and monitoring including AWS regions VPC DirectConnect Elastic Load Balancing DNS/Route 53 virtual firewalls & routers and storage & content delivery concepts.
- Experience with AWS tools such as CloudWatch CloudTrail CloudFormation and AWS Management Console/CLI.
- Strong understanding of both existing and emerging technologies.
- Ability to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities using penetration and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Linux system administration experience.
- Proficiency in Bash scripting and DevOps techniques.
- Solutionoriented mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration and documentation skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to rapidly shifting priorities.
- Ability to communicate complex issues and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills:
- 5 years of experience in system administration and/or DevOps.
- Experience working with AWS EC2 RDS Route 53 ALB and other AWS technologies.
- Knowledge of AI/ML technologies such as vector databases Kubeflow/MLFlow training and inference tools.
