Senior Legal Counsel

Roles and responsibilities

Qiddiya Investment Company, a visionary leader in the development of entertainment and leisure destinations, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice, support, and strategic direction to ensure compliance and mitigate risks across various projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Provide legal guidance on a wide range of issues, including commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to protect the company's interests
Assist in dispute resolution and manage litigation processes as necessary
Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws and regulations impacting the company
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
Oversee the legal compliance of organizational policies and procedures
Advise senior management on legal implications of business decisions, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy
Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on legal issues as needed
Legal Strategy and Risk Management
Develop and implement the company’s legal strategy in alignment with business goals.
Provide strategic legal advice to senior leadership on business decisions, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and other critical organizational matters.
Identify potential legal risks and advise management on how to mitigate these risks, ensuring the organization’s legal interests are well-protected.
Actively manage litigation and legal disputes, including coordinating external counsel, negotiating settlements, and ensuring the organization’s best interests are represented.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Law; a Master's degree or equivalent qualification is an advantage
Minimum of 12 years of experience as a legal counsel, preferably in the construction or real estate sectors
Strong expertise in contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Proficient in legal research and analysis tools
Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of corporate law, commercial law, intellectual property, labor law, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
Leadership and Management: Ability to lead and manage a legal team effectively while advising senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Strategic Thinking: Capability to align legal strategies with business objectives and assess legal risks in a business context.
Negotiation Skills: Strong skills in negotiating contracts, settlements, and other legal agreements that protect the organization’s interests.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
