Senior Principal Designer-HVAC BIM

Performs complex BIM or Plant Data Centric assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms such as Revit Intergraph SmartPlant Plant 3D and other industrystandard software to achieve set results and deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities

Works under general direction with a high degree of autonomy.

• Provides leadership and direction for specific BIM technologies to assigned project teams ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to project timelines.
• Develops and implements technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems in HVAC design and BIM implementation.
• Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions considering both immediate project needs and longterm scalability.
• Performs complex assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms and intricate systems including Revit software to achieve set results and deadlines.
• Coordinates with crossfunctional teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with other building components in the BIM environment.
• Establishes and maintains BIM standards and best practices for HVAC design within the organization.
• Mentors and trains junior team members in advanced BIM techniques and HVAC design principles.
• Conducts quality control reviews of BIM models and HVAC designs to ensure accuracy efficiency and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Collaborates with clients architects and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective HVAC BIM solutions.
• Stays current with emerging trends technologies and methodologies in HVAC design and BIM and implements relevant advancements in project work.
• Participates in business development activities including proposal writing and client presentations for HVAC BIM projects.
• Troubleshoots complex HVAC system issues within the BIM environment and develops innovative solutions.
• Contributes to the development of companywide BIM strategies and initiatives particularly in the HVAC domain.

   

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering HVAC Engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• 6 years of relevant experience in HVAC design and BIM implementation
• Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered
• Proficiency in Revit Intergraph SmartPlant Plant 3D and other industrystandard BIM software
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems design principles and industry standards
• Strong understanding of building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring BIM teams on complex projects
• Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and clients
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

   

• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• LEED AP certification
• Experience with energy modeling and sustainable design practices
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or C# for BIM automation
• Knowledge of cloudbased BIM collaboration platforms
• Experience in business development and client relationship management
• Published articles or presentations at industry conferences related to HVAC BIM
