Job Description
As the Data Engineering Manager you will oversee the design development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. You will work closely with Product Engineering and Data Science teams to ensure our data platform meets the companys evolving needs. Your leadership will be critical in setting a technical vision for the team while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mentor and manage a team of data engineers ensuring their professional development and high performance.
- Define and execute the data engineering roadmap aligning with product and business goals.
- Design implement and optimize scalable data architectures and ETL pipelines to support realtime and batch processing needs.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (Product Data Science Engineering) to ensure data availability quality and usability for analytics reporting and machine learning models.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data governance security and compliance (GDPR CCPA etc.).
- Drive continuous improvement in data infrastructure to enhance performance reliability and costefficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex datarelated issues ensuring timely resolutions and maintaining system integrity.
- Provide strategic input on emerging technologies tools and methodologies to improve data operations.
Qualifications :
- 7 years of experience in data engineering with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong expertise in designing and managing data pipelines ETL frameworks and realtime data processing systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Java or Scala and experience with big data technologies (Hadoop Spark Kafka).
- Deep knowledge of cloudbased data platforms (AWS Google Cloud or Azure) and data warehousing solutions (Redshift Snowflake BigQuery).
- Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow Dagster or Prefect.
- Proven experience in managing data security governance and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership communication and collaboration skills with a track record of building and motivating highperformance teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced productdriven environment with competing priorities.
- Previous experience in ecommerce productfocused or consumerfacing environments is a plus.
