Qiddiya Investment Company is on the cutting edge of entertainment and leisure development in Saudi Arabia, and we are looking for a Legal Counsel I to join our growing legal team. This role is designed for a motivated legal professional who will provide essential support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate and timely legal advice, as required; and responses to legal requests raised by other departments and/or subsidiaries
Support in the development and implementation of the Legal Department's strategy and legal framework; and processes aimed at avoiding regulatory/contract infringements as well as protecting QIC's and/or its subsidiaries' tangible and intangible assets
Lead transactions and matters from the Legal Department including, where necessary, managing external legal counsel and review their work product
Manage claims and disputes raised by or against QIC or its subsidiaries, with support, where required, from external legal counsel
Legal Advice and Risk Management
Provide legal advice to senior management, executives, and other departments on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and compliance.
Identify legal risks and advise on strategies to mitigate them, helping the organization avoid costly litigation or regulatory penalties.
Assist with corporate decision-making, ensuring that business strategies and activities comply with applicable laws.
Bachelor's Degree in Law or related field
Master's Degree in Law (LLM/Juris Doctorate)
Admission to practice law in KSA is preferred
1-3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate or commercial law environment
Strong foundational knowledge of contract law and corporate governance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English
Ability to conduct legal research effectively and efficiently
Detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
Monitor and interpret laws and regulations that affect the business, ensuring the company complies with industry-specific legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, anti-corruption laws).
Conduct internal audits and ensure that business practices align with current legal standards and best practices.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance, including training staff on legal and regulatory obligations.
