Reporting to the Associate Director - Commercial, the Senior Manager - Commercial's key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Associate Director - Commercial to develop commercial strategies and initiatives to aid successful delivery of their respective project within Resort Core Sub-District 3, during the design and construction phases
Overseeing and undertaking all commercial activities assigned to their respective project. This includes reviewing / checking cost plans, preparing / allocating budgets, tender commercial assessments, contract preparation and negotiations, progress payments, cost forecasting / reporting, claim management, auditing and project finalisation
Managing, mentoring and developing commercial resources assigned to their respective project. This includes promoting and developing the commercial acumen within the broader project team.
Work closely with the Senior Manager - Procurement to ensure that the commercial and procurement functions are coordinated and complementary in order to satisfy the overall program needs and requirements
Work closely with other QIC departments, inclusive of the finance and legal departments
1. Strategic Planning and Business Development
Develop and implement commercial strategies that support the organization’s growth objectives and long-term business goals.
Identify new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships to drive revenue growth.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand market trends and identify areas for expansion or improvement.
Collaborate with senior management and other departments to shape business development initiatives.
2. Contract Negotiation and Management
Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring favorable terms for the company while maintaining strong relationships.
Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure they are compliant, enforceable, and aligned with company objectives.
Resolve any issues related to contracts, ensuring proper execution and compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
BSc Construction Management and Economics, Law or equivalent qualification
Engineering and commercial background and experience working on large scale multi-stage construction project
Commercial Acumen: A deep understanding of business operations, markets, financials, and business development strategies.
Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate contracts, partnerships, and deals that benefit the organization.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, market trends, and business performance to make informed decisions.
Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee and drive successful commercial initiatives.
Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage relationships with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Financial Proficiency: Ability to understand and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to drive profitability.
Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying commercial challenges and developing innovative solutions to overcome them.
Leadership: Experience in leading and motivating teams, fostering collaboration, and managing performance.
