Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Cost Manager / Associate Director Mechanical & Electrical to join our team in our Canberra office. Supporting our clients to deliver projects and programs for Defence projects.

  • The position will be to lead on the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) specific deliverables within a larger project or leading direct M&E commissions such as asset upgrade works.
  • The individual must be selfmotivated and Client facing (both internal & external) with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients. This will involve establishing early budgets early estimating and cost planning tendering and procurement and post contract duties.
  • The role will also include management of other Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers within the M&E.
  • A good knowledge of M&E systems and supply chain is fundamental with the ability to work collaboratively.

Qualifications :

  • A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) or working towards
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.
  • Experience in delivering M&E elements of work for clients
  • Knowledge & contacts within the M&E supply chain (tier 1 and below)
  • Utilising digital software for delivery of cost management services
  • Commercially astute with good negotiation skills
  • Excellent people person and great communicator both client facing and team based
  • Ideally an Australian citizen with NV2 clearance
