Who we need:
- An experienced Global Data Centre Portfolio Management specialist working within a Portfolio Office for a major global Bank (Bank) with demonstrable history working across data centre and critical facilities asset portfolios and programme management.
- Able to operate and influence stakeholders at a global level (experience in Asia region critical to give effect to role)
- Ideal candidate must haves:
- Ability to lead; coordinate and drive strategic programme activity; proactively communicate blockers to targets at both a tactical and strategic level across supply partners and bank.
- Must have lean in and willingness to enable resolution to challenges
- Form strategic alliances; elevate and distill key messages to senior client stakeholders (director level)
- Have good understanding of regional challenges and banking culture nuance i.e. previous regional banking experience.
- Excellent technical Excel & PowerPoint capabilities detailed tracking and senior stakeholder presentations/ report outs.
- Able to rapidly assemble to collate; aggregate and synthesize data into digestible reports an communicate out the so what impact.
What they will do:
Overview of requirements
- Expected to lead the planning strategy creation and delivery of the Major Projects / Programmes in data centre space in accordance with the Banks standards.
- Align the data centre programme with the business / function and the group corporate real estate strategy.
- Monitor and track all works in bank premises and colocation sites including closures reclassifications and migrations operational oversight of downtimes and improvement works.
- Partnering closely with engineering and operations leaders to:
- Lay approval groundwork strategy and outline projects needs by communicating with stakeholders early and often ensuring country and group levels understand planned pipeline and change management.
Programme & Portfolio Management
- Drive crossteam projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and to manage complex business needs.
- Leads project / programme management to ensure organizationwide implementation of strategic efforts that require handson coordination across multiple disciplines and business organizations.
- Leads strategic innovation and experimentation.
- Implement planning and scheduling programmes to meet customer needs.
- Drive business results through key performance indicators and business goals promoting clarity and motivation to the project team to execute on time under budget while delivering high quality results with zero rework.
- Partner with finance and supply chain organizations to ensure accurate capital spending.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring that each project meets its objectives and is delivered on time.
- Develop and implement project management processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and oversee the implementation of detailed project plans including timelines and resource requirements for largescale data center projects.
- Manage crossfunctional teams including engineers procurement and construction to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time.
- Monitor project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
- Work with clients to understand their needs and ensure project outcomes meet their expectations.
Governance Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery Support
- Act as a liaison between risk management SMEs governance and delivery teams facilitating the smooth transition of strategic insights into project execution.
- Lead governance forums to present portfolio plans risk assessments and performance metrics to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Provide delivery teams with clear capacity management guidelines and sequencing recommendations for executing activities.
- Build consensus across departments and geographies by aligning stakeholders on portfolio goals and timelines.
Improvements & Efficiencies
- Analyse data quickly identify pain points and embed interventions/process improvements.
- Determines and leads process improvements to quickly scope insights; and drives change management initiatives.
- Bring structure and actively seeks ways of improving and automating current ways of working systems & processes. This will include deployment of tools proficiency in data analytics and ability to streamline processes to better meet business needs.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree AND 12 years experience in engineering product/technical program management data analysis or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 8 years experience managing crossfunctional and/or crossteam projects.
- Understanding of global datacenter designs operations and engineering.
- Professional PM certification PMP Prince2 PMI ESI or equivalent
- Experience in supply chain operations management.
