Senior Electrical Project Manager Data Center Construction

Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead and manage electrical systems and infrastructure for a global tech clients massive Data Center construction and development project onsite in Maiden North Carolina.

This key role will oversee all aspects of electrical design installation commissioning and ongoing support for missioncritical facilities. The Senior Electrical Project Manager will work closely with project teams clients contractors engineers and other stakeholders to ensure successful ontime and withinbudget project delivery.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead and manage electrical aspects of Data Center construction projects ensuring projects are delivered according to specifications on schedule and within budget.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all electricalrelated matters maintaining effective communication with clients contractors consultants engineers and other stakeholders.
• Review and approve electrical designs ensuring compliance with all applicable codes standards and regulations while meeting client requirements for reliability scalability and energy efficiency.
• Develop and manage electrical budgets estimates and schedules and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders. Identify and address any potential budget or timeline deviations.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to electrical systems design procurement and construction. Implement strategies to resolve issues and avoid delays.
• Coordinate with crossfunctional teams including civil mechanical and structural engineers to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project scope.
• Ensure all electrical installations and systems meet or exceed quality standards safety regulations and industry best practices. Oversee inspections testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
•  Manage subcontractors and electrical vendors ensuring timely and quality performance. Review and approve submittals change orders and progress payments.
• Oversee commissioning processes including system testing troubleshooting and final system turnover to the client. Ensure thorough documentation and operational manuals are provided.
• Stay current with industry trends technologies and regulations related to electrical systems for Data Centers and apply innovative solutions to improve project outcomes.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Construction Management or related field. Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g. PMP PE) a plus.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical project management with a focus on Data Center construction or similar largescale critical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems design installation and commissioning for missioncritical environments including power distribution backup power systems (UPS generators) switchgear and lighting.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g. Procore MS Project) as well as electrical design software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit or similar tools).
• Indepth knowledge of electrical codes standards (e.g. NEC NFPA) and industry best practices for Data Center electrical systems.
• Strong leadership team management and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients contractors engineers and other stakeholders.
•  Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities with a proven track record of overcoming challenges on complex projects.
• PMP PE or other relevant certifications are highly preferred.
• Ability to travel to the project site as required.
