Roles and responsibilities
Support all aspects of Occupational Safety, including developing and designing comprehensive Safety systems, ensuring alignment with Safety policies, standards, and established best practices. Additionally, review implementation and monitoring of the Safety Management systems and initiatives. Responsible for providing advice on various safety aspects to all stakeholders, and for encouraging everyone to pursue safe work practices and to maintain safe conditions at their work sites. Investigates and prepares reports on accidents with an emphasis on prevention and/or recurrence. Also, to provide subject matter expert advice to business units and departments in areas of HS hazards and HS Engineering issues.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide consultation to stakeholders and assist in maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with environmental/safety regulations, standards and practices.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommends changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace incidents and injuries
- Develop, implement and update safety standards to minimize risks and meet legal requirements, recent standard updates such as API, OSHA, etc…, and understand the risk management system.
- Respond effectively to request for advice and pro-actively address safety, Ma’aden MSHEMS issues in specific incidents or situations to build-in safety wherever possible and minimize risk.
- Supports incident investigations to minimize reoccurrence and prepares internal investigations and retains findings of these records.
- Lead, conduct and support MSHEM assessment among Ma’aden sites.
- Prepare and deliver safety orientations, safety training, and job site inspection procedures and conduct specialized safety training programs.
- Review and analyze injury, property damage, and statistical loss data and works with management to prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
Desired candidate profile
Bachelor degree in Engineering, safety engineering, or in a related field.
Minimum Experience:
8 Years of related safety or operational experience, preferably in mine, petrochemical, oil and gas industry.
