Bridge Inspection Team Leader

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to be based out of our office in Providence RI.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Performs field inspections according to requirements of RIDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and the FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards.
• Supervises Team Members as well as access and equipment vendors.
• Work at heights on ladders on scaffolding and on aerial lifts or other bridge inspection access equipment.
• Work in confined spaces work adjacent to live traffic work in or around water and work under adverse weather conditions.
• Work overnight as required including work within railroad rightofway.
• Prepares inspection reports.
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule.
• Participates in development of technical proposals.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering plus 6 years of related experience in bridge inspection or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor of bridge inspectors
• Valid Drivers License required to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in the State of Rhode Island
• 2week NHI Course No. 130055 Safety Inspection of InService Bridges or the 5day NHI Course No. 130056 Safety Inspection of InService Bridges for Professional Engineers
• NHI Course No. 130053 Bridge Inspection (Refresher when required)
• NHI Course No. 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges
• ANSI 92.24/92.22 Mobile Elevated Work Platforms/Snooper Training
• Previous Fall Protection and Confined Space Training
• Previous Amtrak Contractor Training
• Long span bridge inspection experience
• Bridge Load Rating experience
