Transportation Deputy Division Manager

AECOM is seeking an established professional services leader in the TransitRail sector to support the Division Manager to drive the growth strategy and profitability of AECOMs services in the West Coast of the United States.  This individual will be part of the senior leadership team for the West Coast Transportation Business Line reporting directly to West Coast TransitRail Division Manager and will share responsibilities with the Division Manager on P&L for the TransitRail Division.  The Deputy Division Manager will provide leadership and coaching to staff in various subjects including but not limited to account management business development capture management and project delivery.  The ideal candidate will be an industry leader with existing relationships at key transit agencies in California and Washington.  The TransitRail business line at AECOM spans the full suite of services including environmental planning engineering design and program and construction management.  With AECOMs recent East San Fernando Light Rail Progressive Design and Build award AECOM continues to be a leader in alternative delivery for transitrail programs on the West Coast and the Deputy TransitRail Division Manager will need the skills to continue recruiting at a fast pace for this major DB project while balancing a focus on winning more major transitrail projects.  This leader will need to be a selfstarter who can build a highperforming team rapidly demonstrate a successful track record in winning work and be experienced in running a profitable business.

This position is expected to begin immediately.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The TransitRail Deputy Division Manager will need to be a growth minded leader who can support the Division Manager and work collaboratively with other senior leadership and mentor staff in a dynamic setting to drive business development capture management account management project management project delivery technical excellence and quality while ultimately growing a profitable business.  The ideal person would be a civil engineer with delivery experience and both growth and P&L experience.

• Act as an external leader for AECOM and maintain a visible profile in the region

• Build and cultivate a high performing team that thrives in a face paced growth environment

• Support growth strategy and sale of AECOMs TransitRail Services

• Embody AECOMs Safeguard value consistently and driving a culture that puts safety first

• Demonstrate relentless customer focus by developing meaningful relationships identifying and adding value to client needs and ensuring a client driven culture

• Work closely with operations and other leadership as it relates to staffing recruiting retention employee engagement

• Support project performance quality safety technical excellence and business unit profitability

• Help build a strong and thriving culture in the West Coast that promotes equity diversity inclusion sustainability and innovation

• Lead negotiations of contractual and financial agreements with clients and subconsultants

• Thinking strategically while driving the financial execution of the P&L for the Division

• Key Performance Indicators include contribution margin sales revenue earned bookings booktoburn backlog growth market share wallet share client satisfaction hiring and staff retention safety and ED&I.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS and 15 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education including 4 years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Civil Engineer in California or Washington

• 5 years of demonstrated leadership and managing large teams of people with prior P&L experience

• 5 years of experience in business development capture management and account management

• Ability to build broad and deep internal and external networks and capable of communicating to inspire and lead others

• Graduate degree in engineering or MBA

• Ability to teach and mentor technical staff by demonstrated knowledge of relevant technical skills and tools

• Teamoriented individual with ability to work with minimal supervision

• Ability to communicate clearly and simply to clients leadership and technical staff

• Ability to balance various responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
