A Day in the Life of a Coffee Specialist:
1 year of prior hotel, catering, sales or retail experience is required
Excellent presentation, communication &interpersonal skills; exceptional customer service skills

Proactive and responsive to anticipate and fulfill customer needs

Coffee Preparation and Brewing Expertise:
Roles:
Expertly prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages.
Use various brewing methods to create the best possible cup of coffee.
Responsibilities:
Brew coffee using different techniques (e.g., espresso, pour-over, French press, drip) and equipment (e.g., espresso machines, grinders, brew stations).
Adjust brewing parameters (e.g., grind size, water temperature, brew time) to ensure optimal flavor extraction.
Ensure that coffee beverages are prepared according to customer preferences (e.g., strength, temperature, milk frothing).
Maintain high standards for consistency in coffee preparation.
Experiment with different brewing methods to create unique coffee experiences and new offerings.
2. Coffee Bean Selection and Knowledge:
Roles:
Curate and select coffee beans, focusing on quality and flavor profiles.
Develop expertise in coffee bean origins, roasting profiles, and how these factors affect flavor.
Responsibilities:
Work with suppliers or roasters to select the best quality beans for the establishment.
Understand the differences between coffee bean origins (e.g., Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil) and how they impact flavor profiles.
Stay up-to-date on current trends in coffee production, sourcing, and sustainability.
Educate staff and customers on the nuances of different coffee beans, such as flavor notes, acidity, body, and aftertaste.
Offer recommendations for bean selection based on customer preferences or seasonal trends.
