Joining our established and expanding Nuclear team as a Mechanical Building Services Engineer means engaging in a diverse and growing array of UKbased projects. This role offers the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary projects at various stages of their lifecycle from client consultancy to delivering comprehensive engineering design solutions. Your responsibilities will include client interaction preparing bids and proposals and overseeing project delivery in line with AECOMs standards for quality safety and environmental care.

Our established multidisciplinary nuclear SQEP team based across the UK has been delivering fitforpurpose solutions across the full spectrum of the nuclear sector for over 50 years. We understand that the nuclear sector is unique with the utmost need for safety and a critical requirement to manage a myriad of potential risks.

Heres what youll do:

  • You will be responsible for delivery of Mechanical Building Services design & engineering within that department including the production of design documentation and design substantiation.
  • Develop and review design strategies for mechanical heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) plumbing and other building services systems ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes regulations and sustainability standards such as LEED BREEAM or local energy efficiency requirements.
  • Implement best practices in sustainable and energyefficient design utilizing new technologies renewable energy sources and smart building systems.
  • Assists in conducting site visits surveys and inspections.
  • Support coordination with other disciplines (e.g. architectural structural electrical) and ensures adherence to project requirements.

Qualifications :

Ready to push the limits of whats possible

Heres what were looking for:

The successful Engineer will have/be:

  • Qualified to a minimum of HND level and preferably have a good relevant engineering degree.
  • Working towards a professional certification (IEng).
  • Membership of CIBSE or a relevant and equivalent professional body
  • Experience in mechanical building services design from working in a range of market sectors with a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to apply them.
  • Relevant experience in regard specification writing calculations and developing designs proposals
  • Understanding and knowledge using IES and AUTOCAD.

Preferred Additional Qualifications / Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Electrical building services design
  • Have a working knowledge of appropriate nuclear standards and specifications as well as general engineering standards.
  • Knowledge of the nuclear sector including new build and decommissioning projects. in roles reliant upon professional engineering expertise and judgement.
  • Using Revit to be able to amend and investigate Revit models to ensure that the output is correct and appropriate. We can train someone in this if required.
  • You will also be selfmotivated with an ability to work autonomously where required.
