Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

To engage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level.

Job Responsibilities 1

Provides entry- to intermediate-level professional services, under supervision of professional staff as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the unit.

Undertakes and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.

Participates in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise.

Interacts directly with colleagues, clientele, and/or other internal or external constituencies in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems.

Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.

As appropriate to the position and as specified by unit management, conducts original research and prepares reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.

May provide day-to-day guidance and support to student employees and/or interns within area of specialty.

May undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Planning skills.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

1. Learning and Development

  • Project Assistance: Depending on the role, interns may assist with specific projects. This could involve research, data analysis, or preparing reports. Interns might also help organize events or contribute to marketing initiatives.
  • Operational Tasks: Interns may assist with day-to-day operational tasks such as assisting customers, managing inventory, or performing technical support duties, depending on the industry.

3. Support Team Members

  • Collaborating with Departments: Interns often work closely with different departments to understand how various parts of the organization function. They may assist team members with projects or deliverables that contribute to the team’s goals.
  • Provide Assistance: Interns support the team by helping with tasks that free up other employees to focus on more critical responsibilities. This can include preparing materials for meetings, tracking project milestones, or drafting emails and communications.

4. Research and Analysis

  • Conduct Research: Interns may be asked to conduct market research, competitive analysis, or other industry-specific research to support decision-making or contribute to a project.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Interns can assist with data collection, organizing the information, and helping to analyze the data to provide insights or trends relevant to ongoing projects.
