Summary:
Summary of work to be performed by contractor: Produces a major portion of a complex documentation set (i.e. online help howto and scenario guidance) that complies with documentation plan requirements. Includes writing editing updating capturing and adding screen shots as needed (limited) and publishing. Content will be published on learn.microsoft.com and support.microsoft.com. Develops and tests complex user scenarios that show how to use the product being documented. Ability to interact with Product SMEs Product Managers Engineers Designers and Researcher to identify content needs. May instruct others in writing styles to support creation of documentation and guidance. Writes and helps implement documentation plan including reviewing data to inform improvements. Ability to shift technical language to usable friendly modern voice content for customers (endusers admins operators). Knowledge of Microsoft publishing products C3 and GitHub (strongly preferred but not required). Skilled in technical writing editing and proofreading for Microsoft. Knowledge of Microsoft Style Guide (preferred not required).
Job Responsibilities:
Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order clarity conciseness style and terminology
Maintain records and files of work and revisions
Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a technical field such as computer science or english journalism communications
