WaterWastewater Engineering Intern

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Water/Wastewater  Engineering Intern for employment in the Winnipeg Manitoba office.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks related to municipal water and/or wastewater treatment.
• Work under supervision of a project manager contract administrator and/or seniorlevel team member.
• Participate in water and/or wastewater process design activities including preparation of design calculations equipment sizing and selection process layouts engineering specifications and cost estimates.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and vendors.
•  Review of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy.
• Participate in contract administration services during the construction of wastewater infrastructure and facilities.
• Perform municipal water/wastewater treatment plant site investigations data collection and analysis activities.
• Prepare technical memoranda contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports.
• Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies.
• Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with coordination tasks.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Biosystems Chemical Mechanical Environmental or related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelors degree and plan to continue with the masters degree are eligible to apply for this position. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in the use of desktop computational tools including Excel Word PowerPoint Microsoft Project etc.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous work experience in the field of municipal water/wastewater is an asset.
