We are currently an office of 50 professionals including 25 Cost Managers delivering construction solutions for our diverse client base providing a broad range of services. Heres what youll do:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be primarily working alongside an Associate or Director to successfully manage and deliver cost management duties on various capital projects across the East of England.

We focus on a number of key sectors including but not limited to; Defence Science Health and Education.

The role will cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception/business case development estimates through to cost planning the RIBA design stages procurement and onto the site delivery commissioning and operational stages.

You should possess the skills and experience to actively support the internal team manage and mentor more junior staff on individual projects as well as technically complex projects typically ranging between 1m to 50m (construction cost).

You will help develop collaborative relationships with our existing clients and other professional colleagues within the industry. Demonstrate an ability and desire to obtain increasing understanding of a clients business demonstrating Client focus.

Successful delivery of projects with minimum supervision ensuring tasks on projects are managed and completed efficiently on time and with a keen desire to maintain clients satisfaction leading to continued and further business.

Day to day be the main client point of contact for projects.

Be enquiring proactive and challenge where appropriate our own existing methods / processes to demonstrate value for money to the Client.

Qualifications :

Heres what were looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree Qualified BSc or MSc in construction related discipline which could include Quantity Surveying Cost Management Construction Management Commercial Management etc.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills are key.
  • Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members and effectively balance people and processes.
  • You will ideally be a selfmotivated individual from a consultancy or client organisation background with the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Proven experience in a consulting environment/client organisation providing the full spectrum of Cost Management services including PreContract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
  • Solid and practiced core measurement skills with experience of quantified procurement routes.
  • Previous experience of managing internal resources including the training and mentoring of more junior staff members is advantageous.
  • Good Understanding of contracts (JCT and NEC).

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Professionally Qualified ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS CIOB or other equivalent institution.
  • Full clean UK driving license and a willingness to travel.
  • CSCS card holder.
