For an innovative and rapidly growing client we are looking for a Senior Engineering Treaty Underwriter (m/f/d) to start immediately or by agreement. Our client operates in the reinsurance sector focusing on building longterm partnerships and is part of one of the largest insurance groups in Germany.
You will focus on the strategic development of the global engineering reinsurance treaty portfolio. This involves building maintaining and deepening relationships with both existing and potential clients and brokers through market visits and client interactions. Your role will position our client as a growing and recognized player in the engineering reinsurance sector. You will assist in optimizing the existing portfolio and ensuring efficient use of allocated capacity. In collaboration with the Global Head of Engineering and Regional Managers you will develop and align market and client strategies as part of the underwriting plan. You will also be responsible for implementing the underwriting plan including the Consolidated Planning Tool (CPT) alongside the Global Head of Engineering. Representing our client at industry events such as conferences will be part of your role. You will work closely with pricing actuaries and regional managers to ensure seamless collaboration and support. Additionally you will review and approve claims with the claims department ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines.
You hold a university degree in engineering or possess a recognized insurance qualification such as ACII or an equivalent. You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting or a related field or equivalent expertise in direct/facultative engineering insurance. You have an enthusiastic and forwardthinking mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement. You can perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You are an excellent team player with outstanding communication and negotiation skills for interacting with business partners and internal stakeholders. Your technical and analytical skills are complemented by a resultsdriven approach. You are proficient in MS Office particularly Excel. Fluency in English is essential and knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage.
