The Communications Coordinator will assist with campaigns data and list management expertly handle any questions attendees might have and create a seamless and fabulous time at TED events. As a member of the Conference Team youll collaborate to create successful events that help us grow our audiences and enhance the event experience while contributing to our mission. Youre highly efficient and organized enjoy troubleshooting and are comfortable managing shifting priorities. This is a 56 month fixedterm engagement from January 2025 to the end of June 2025 with a possibility of extension. The target salary range for this role is $25 $28 an hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and execute campaigns using Mailchimp and other similar platforms. Write proof and format emails and other communication materials.
- Contribute to communicating all aspects of the conference program:
- Work closely with internal teams and external teams to effectively communicate key information for maximum impact.
- Advise best practices ensure TED branding guidelines are followed and manage deliverables.
- Manage attendee lists and create and update programming for upcoming events in event database and Google Sheets.
- Provide worldclass service to conference attendees via phone email and in person. Escalate any sensitive issues and unusual requests to team leadership to coordinate the response.
- Communicate timelines to relevant stakeholders and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Represent TED and our mission the power of ideas to change attitudes lives and ultimately the world.
WORKPLACE CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS
General: Expected hours of work 10 am 6 pm ET. This is a remote position.
Physical: Repetitive movement of wrists hands and/or fingers.
Mental/Visual: Concentrated mental and/or visual attention; work involves performing tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications.
Computer programs include MS Office Mac programs Google Docs and functional related databases.
Travel: Ability to travel internationally is an asset.
Qualifications :
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Degree (preferred) or diploma in communications marketing or similar experience.
- 2 years of communications experience (strong writing editing and formatting skills) using MailChimp HubSpot or similar email campaign software.
- Experience using Zendesk or similar ticketing software is a plus.
- Customer support or similar experience both inperson and online.
- Prior events experience an asset.
- Experience working with CRMs / databases to manage customer records.
- Solid working knowledge of Airtable / Google applications / Microsoft suite (especially Sheets / Excel).
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Techsavvy fast learner of new tools.
- Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines and reprioritize as needed.
- Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical and problemsolving skills. Ability to identify customer pain points troubleshoot and know when to escalate both inperson and online.
