Job Description
This individual will be responsible for all aspects of planning and managing the 25 employee driver group with some Supervisory of the dock staff. Both the dispatch and dock activities utilize electronic planning through the AS/400 and dock / driver handhelds.
Primary focus will be on timely efficient dispatching with emphasis on Health and Safety financials and KPIs while ensuring our Customers requirements are met or exceeded though outlines policies and procedures.
This is a salaried position which reports directly to the Terminal Manager.
Qualifications :
- Excellent Communication and problemsolving skills are required.
- Energetic and capable of multitasking
- A dedicated employee committed to company policy
- Capable of managing the workflow for 25 city drivers
- Heavy call volume
- Experience in LTL transportation is an asset
- Excellent planning skills
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience is required.
- Prior dispatch experience preferred.
- Ability to train and develop team members and hold them accountable when necessary.
- Ability to identify root causes write corrective actions and implement.
