Roles and responsibilities
Supervise, coordinate, deliver and overseas the daily activities of HMG fleet and drivers and transportation services.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Administer the transportation services plan and develops policies and procedures covering all aspects of the operation.
- Supervise the activities of dispatcher and drivers.
- Provide on-site supervision of activities related to the operation, transfer of personnel and emergency incidents.
- Evaluates routes, schedules and general operations to ensure that services are provided according to schedule.
- Respond to and investigate accidents, incidents, equipment failure, schedule delays and service problems.
- Perform time and performance checks, monitor driver’s arrivals and departure from HMG locations.
- Conduct area patrols to ensure safety and smooth operations on routes.
- Ensures the maintenance of all records to cover the activities of the department.
- Identifies required bus routes and routines.
- Assesses equipment availability and deployment level.
- Complete all timesheets and attach overtime authorization papers and submit to respective approval authority each month with all necessary signatures.
- Liaise with workshop to ensure timely notification of all vehicle breakdown and unsafe condition.
- Coordinate with HR department on employee entitlement of transport services.
- Comply with the standards laid down by the accreditation agencies and perform the duties necessary to support accreditation standards.
- Make sure that Official envelops, documents, equipment and material received from other HMG hospitals and the concerned person or departments has been informed.
- Perform driver duties as and when necessary.
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform any applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities.
Desired candidate profile
Educational : High School Certificate
Experience
At least 3 years’ experience in the same field.
Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and motivate transportation staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and support teams.
Organizational Skills: Effectively coordinates schedules, routes, and resources to ensure efficient operations.
Communication Skills: Clear and professional interaction with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Resolves scheduling conflicts, route disruptions, or other operational issues quickly and effectively.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS).
Knowledge of GPS and route optimization software.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of transportation laws, safety regulations, and compliance standards (e.g., DOT, OSHA).
Budget Management: Monitors transportation costs and identifies areas for cost savings.
