Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive technical support for the MEP services on the project via demonstration of professional and respectful behaviours, providing clear advice, guidance and the encouragement of compliance with standards.
  • Provides comprehensive technical advice on MEP services including management of the Programme, health safety & wellbeing, quality & commissioning of the project.
  • Develops working relationships with key project stakeholders, forming strong working relationships with the client, consultants, trade contractors and other team leaders.
  • Manages initial review of contracts and scope, advising on the preparation of budgets, value engineering proposals, schedules and trade contracts, contributing to the commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle in terms of reviewing progress or resolving issues.
  • Manages the reviewing of scope, providing advice and guidance to be considered in the creation of project strategic plans in conjunction with the Mace operating framework and strategic priorities, such as prefabrication (C2P), commissioning and safety.
  • Manages the undertaking of design reviews on information provided by consultants and trade specialists, checking for compliance, coordination and completeness, including embodied carbon and operational energy associated with the MEP services design.
  • The understanding, articulation and implementation of the RIBA and BSRIA design frameworks is essential.
  • Provides guidance on possible delivery strategies and programmes for all phases of the project, ensuring the key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics and work sequencing are all properly considered.
  • Coordinates the review of commissioning strategies in line with Mace commissioning standards inclusive of IST approach, ATP’s and Soft Landings.
  • Manages the identification of risk and the production of mitigation plans.
  • Coordinates the review of issues to drive continuous improvement and providing lessons learned through the knowledge share process.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll Need To Have

  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/ programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).

  • Project Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall), and best practices for managing projects successfully from initiation to completion.
  • Strategic Planning and Advisory: Ability to advise on project strategies, helping align projects with business goals, objectives, and broader organizational strategy.
  • Risk Management: Experience identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks, ensuring that project risks are managed effectively to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges, recommend solutions, and facilitate decision-making processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage and communicate with project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Decision-Making: Expertise in advising senior management and project teams on critical decisions, ensuring that the right course of action is taken based on available data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work across departments, such as design, procurement, construction, and finance, to ensure that projects are progressing according to plan.
  • Project Governance and Compliance: Strong understanding of project governance and compliance, ensuring that projects meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to provide guidance on financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost estimation, and tracking, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget.
  • Contract Management: Experience in advising on the terms of contracts, managing contract performance, and ensuring that deliverables are met as per contractual agreements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas and project information to various stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Ability to guide projects through periods of change, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to project objectives.
