Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Understands data and the ways it can be structured, being able to clearly articulate the pros and cons of structuring data in different ways.
Collaborates with colleagues to optimise data source stability and develop and maintain robust data policies and processes.
Translates business requirements into technical requirements that then form the basis of development activity.
Supports PMO team activity by assuring the quality, integrity and stability of the project data infrastructure.
Develops visually effective reporting outputs that promote data-driven decision-making.
Contributes to the digital centre of excellence by sharing knowledge, case studies and training.
Opportunity to take online management responsibilities, both within the digital C of E and within digital teams on projects.
Develops and maintains a series of both internal and external relationships.
Maintains and influences key/senior Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all reports, financial data, and insights.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to present complex data in a clear and understandable way to senior executives, stakeholders, and non-financial teams.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues in data or reporting processes and find solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Results-Driven: Focused on meeting deadlines, improving reporting systems, and providing valuable insights that drive decision-making.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the broader business strategy and translate that into meaningful, actionable reporting that supports business objectives.
Time Management: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines, particularly during month-end or quarterly reporting periods.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs or changes in reporting requirements.


Desired candidate profile

  • Financial Reporting Expertise: Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and presenting financial and management reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Strong analytical skills to evaluate large datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business decision-making.
  • Report Automation: Experience with automation tools and techniques to streamline reporting processes, including the use of business intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel Macros.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Deep understanding of advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and complex financial modeling.
  • Financial Management: Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements) and the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to senior management.
  • Performance Reporting: Ability to track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmarks, and operational metrics to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Experience ensuring that reporting practices comply with regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improving reporting processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Team Leadership: Proven experience leading a team of financial analysts, junior accountants, or report generators to ensure the smooth operation of the reporting function.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage reporting projects, including coordinating with various departments to gather necessary data and ensure deadlines are met.
