Job Description
This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:
International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Physician Assistant to provide care for VA members and their families. A physician assistant (PA) is a licensed healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a physician to provide patient care including conducting physical exams diagnosing illnesses ordering and interpreting tests and developing treatment plans. PAs play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare access and delivering quality medical services in various settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat various medical conditions under the supervision of a physician.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance disease prevention and treatment options.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide postoperative care as needed.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records and documentation.
- Conduct followup visits to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Stay informed about advancements in medical practices and participate in continuing education.
Qualifications :
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Applicants must possess a current active full and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician Assistant from a State the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States.
Education Required:
- A bachelors degree from an accredited institution often with a focus in health sciences or a related field.
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program which usually results in a masters degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
Additional Information :
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation Min: $65hr Max: $90hr
