You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOur Venue Sales and Servicing Manager role is an excellent next step for a seasoned restaurant professional. Requiring a strong ability to engage with guests and work with the Food & Beverage leadership team this role exists to create events as only the Chateau Laurier can. The successful candidate part of a Food & Beverage management team will drive sales to groups coordinate the events and be the primary point of contact for events in the restaurants. In addition to the sales and planning portion of the role the Venue Sales and Servicing Manager will oversee much of the day to day administrative duties of the division including payroll ordering coordination of communication and preparation for all areas of Food and Beverage. Acting as a leader and role model in the adherence to all Fairmont standards but most especially Fairmonts Food & Beverage standards will also be a critical success factor.
Reporting to the Restaurant General Managers responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Answering and developing group reservation inquiries for the restaurants planning the events and servicing the events
Actively seeking new business for all restaurants
Work closely with the Restaurant General Managers and Venues culinary team to ensure clear communication and preparation for client events
Work with Culinary and Venues leadership to develop new and innovative offerings to drive group business
Support the Food & Beverage leadership team in administrative tasks including Payroll preparation for events POS programming Menu formatting
At times step into both Banquets and Venues to assist in floor management
Assist with Tour Group coordination in the Venues
Drive profitability by selecting the right fit and mix of business for restaurants at the right times
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Previous leadership experience in restaurants
Previous experience in event planning sales or convention services
Degree/Diploma in a recognized Hotel and Restaurant Management Program an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cohesively as part of a team and build relationships
Strong culinary and beverage knowledge
Familiarity of general accounting principles and policies
Ability to analyze data and trends and create strategies for improvement
Resultsoriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
Previous experience in a unionized environment an asset
Bilingual in both official languages is an asset
Demonstrated passion for the industry and guests
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong problem solving abilities
Excellent work ethic with a high degree of responsibility
