My notes:
- Role: They will be reporting to the VP of Clinical Applications Monica DiGioia and she is overseeing all RTTs. This is a new program for their dermatology customers where they will give them one of their SRT systems for free and provide a Radiation Therapist and they just split the profit 50/50 with the doctors offices. This program is extremely new with only one office that has been staffed so far. Within the first month they have already signed up 20 new offices and each office needs an RT. The RT will be an employee of Sensus but they will be working at specific practices utilizing their system (the SRT100 Vision) under the physicians direction of care. They will have full support from Sensus and they want to make sure that the RTs dont feel like an island. Also dermatology is stable and stress free and their system is straight forward and easy to use. There are a lot of perks to working in dermatology especially compared to a hospital setting. The hours arent typically stressful like hospitals and most offices are closed on Fridays and weekends. Some offices even offer great perks like free botox.
- Must Have: They must be a Radiation Therapist with a current license and ARRT certification. If it is expired its easy to get renewed. They need a good personality and can easily speak with people. They need to be flexible and to understand that its a new program and they are still working out the kinks. Its a new process but they need to understand they are not on an island. They will work under care of the dermatologist in the office. Dermatology experience isnt needed and any kind of radiation experience is ok. They dont care if they are right out of school because they are more trainable. If they are young they tend to want to go to the hospitals so this could be extra hours for them. More experienced is ok too and they know they will be more costly.
- Additional certifications: Some states require state licenses other than the ARRT and they will cover state license if they dont have it. States that do NOT require a separate state license are AL AK CO GA ID MI MN MS NC PA SD TN DC.
- Training: It will start with a 3hour virtual training and they will get a clinical handbook to start. Then they will have a basic training that is a 2 day clinical training and it is very thorough. They go over radiation safety and bring in patients for simulation.
- NonCompetes: People from Skin Care Oncology will likely have one but its almost impossible to hold up. Its ok if they reach out to them directly but its a slippery slope if they reach out to them. Monica is fine with us reaching out but they dont want too many waves.
- Competition: There was another Distributor called SkinCure Oncology that did this before but it wasnt done in a very good way and has put a bad taste in the market due to how they treated people. They are not the same company and are doing this very differently. They only worked with large clients that had tons of patients and RTs would have to see 20 patients a day at times. They also didnt treat their people well and made them feel like islands.
- Work hours: They currently dont have a cap on the number of patients per dermatology office so they will likely start working with about 10 patients to start and will work 23 days a week. Once the offices get comfortable with the RT and the system then it will likely turn into a fulltime role. Some offices were formerly using a competitors product so they might start with fulltime work but they will let us know per role. A lot of these doctors have no idea how busy they are going to be at first. Some want a fulltime person right away and some will be PRN and gradually move them into full time. They will likely be full time within a few months but no guarantee.
- Fall short: A lot of people are looking for full time work and they cant promise that at all locations. Also some clinics are in super remote locations. They just havent seen a lot of candidates and they have hired pretty much all theyve seen except one guy with no personality.
- Interview: They will meet with Madison and Monica together. Madison for the culture fit of the company and Monica will ask some clinical questions. If that goes well they will meet with someone from the Doctors office they will be working at to assess them for culture fit.
- Onsite/Remote: Most locations will start working onsite 23 days a week and will increase to full time. Others will start full time but they will let us know up front.
- Why open: They have recently developed a new program for customers that involves staffing a Radiation Therapist to each individual office. The RT will be an employee of Sensus however they will be working at specific practices utilizing their system (the SRT100 Vision) under the physicians direction of care. This program is extremely new with only one office that has been staffed so far.
- Salary/Bonus: They ideally want people on a PRN basis and paid by hour when they work. These PRNs wont have benefits but they will be employees of Sensus and get perks like cell phone mileage scrubs etc. If they do hire someone full time they will get a salary and benefits of full time employees like 401K healthcare etc. Compensation depends on the location. Theyve seen rates between $37$85/hour so send what they are looking for.
- What is PRN PRN is an acronym for the Latin phrase pro re nata which means as the need arises or as needed. Its commonly used in medical circles particularly in nursing to describe employees who work when called upon such as to fill in for an absent employee or to cover a special situation.
- RT Benefits: PRNs will get a cell phone ($150/month) paid for mileage and scrub reimbursement. They are sure if they will get mileage if they are full time though.
- Current Openings: We can send proactively if we have people in other cities they dont have it but no promises they can hire them.
