We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Professor of Psychiatry to join our esteemed academic institution. Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Mentoring:
- Deliver lectures seminars and practical sessions in psychiatry for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials including course syllabi assignments and assessments.
- Mentor and guide students in academic and clinical settings fostering their personal and professional development.
- Supervise postgraduate students medical residents and research fellows in their clinical rotations and research projects.
- Participate in academic committees and contribute to the development of teaching strategies and educational programs.
Research and Scholarly Activities:
- Lead initiate and contribute to research projects in various areas of psychiatry including clinical trials epidemiological studies and mental health interventions.
- Publish research findings in peerreviewed journals and present them at national and international conferences.
- Actively seek and manage research funding through grants and partnerships.
- Promote and support the research activities of students residents and junior faculty members.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical care in psychiatry including diagnosis treatment and management of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of medical residents and fellows during their clinical rotations.
- Ensure adherence to high ethical standards patient confidentiality and medical best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in providing comprehensive care for patients.
Administrative and Leadership Duties:
- Contribute to the development and execution of departmental goals policies and programs.
- Serve on academic committees and participate in decisionmaking processes related to curriculum and faculty development.
- Assist in the recruitment and development of faculty residents and staff.
- Take on leadership roles in departmental projects and initiatives ensuring effective execution.
- Represent the department and institution at conferences seminars and professional meetings.
Requirements
Skills and Competencies:
- Clinical Expertise: Advanced knowledge in various subspecialties of psychiatry (e.g. adult psychiatry child and adolescent psychiatry geriatric psychiatry).
- Research Skills: Expertise in designing and conducting research with proficiency in statistical analysis grant writing and academic publishing.
- Teaching and Communication Skills: Strong ability to teach mentor and engage students residents and fellows effectively.
