As a Laboratory Technician at Veolia HPD you will play a crucial role in our mission to develop and optimize environmentally responsible processes. You will work closely with our research and development team to conduct laboratory and pilot testing. You will have the opportunity to learn and operate various unit operations including evaporation crystallization membrane treatment ion exchange chemical precipitation and settling filtration carbon adsorption and various solid/liquid separations.
This position is a great opportunity for individuals with handson ability a good work ethic and a desire to learn while on the job. Each project is unique and the daily activities change regularly which keeps the work interesting. Relevant skills are not required but will be considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory and Pilot Setup / Testing: Setup and operation of laboratory and pilotscale experiments. Setup may include pipefitting electrical wiring forklift and/or overhead crane operation. Conduct experiments and tests according to established protocols and input from the research engineers.
Data and Sample Collection: Collect the required data from the testing and record the data accurately. Take samples during the testing which will be analyzed by the chemists.
Facility Maintenance: Responsible for maintenance type duties throughout the facility in order to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams including research engineers chemists and other technicians in order to support the research projects and troubleshoot operational issues.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures including the handling of hazardous materials proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of equipment.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory and pilotscale equipment to guarantee the accuracy of experimental results.
Qualifications :
A high school diploma or G.E.D is required
One to two years of experience in similar positions
Handson experience with laboratory equipment instrumentation and tools. Familiarity with basic mechanical electrical and plumbing systems is desirable
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a teamoriented environment and independently
Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures
