Roles and responsibilities
The Post Doctoral Fellow, as part of the program team, engages in collaborative scientific work with other colleagues to deliver specific research tasks. The Postdoctoral Fellow may also prepare status reports on program process.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Shares responsibility for the timely completion of assigned tasks and ensures constant progress in research pertaining to specialty area.
- Performs assigned scientific research at the highest standards.
- Writes and publishes articles in peer reviewed journals that highlight findings from research.
- Provides regular status updates regarding developments in the project.
- Develops collaborative links with core scientific personnel in related program areas to gain exposure and build knowledge on experimental/ research activities and approaches.
- Provides education and updates for medical technologists and clinicians regarding advances in the field.
- Researches articles with regard to the subject, keeps up to date with the latest developments and identifies areas for improvement.
- Participates in postdoc career development and review process.

1. Conducting Research
- Advanced Research: Postdocs are often involved in specialized, cutting-edge research projects that build upon their doctoral work. This research may be experimental, theoretical, or applied, depending on the field of study.
- Independent Research: While they typically work under the guidance of a principal investigator (PI), postdocs are expected to demonstrate a significant degree of independence in designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments or studies.
- Publishing Findings: Postdocs are encouraged to publish their research in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in their field. This helps build their academic and professional reputation.
- Writing Grants and Proposals: In many cases, postdocs assist with or lead efforts to secure research funding by writing grant applications or proposals.
Desired candidate profile
EducationPhD in relevant fieldExperience
Demonstrated independent research capabilities, good organizational skills and the ability to work with others
Research experiences within an academic health center or university with high research activity, good record of scientific publication and outstanding reference.
