Job Description
About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst (Migration Expert) to support the migration of data in the development of a core banking application. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy integrity and successful transfer of data from legacy systems to the new core banking platform. This role demands expertise in data migration analytical proficiency and a deep understanding of banking systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Migration Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive data migration plans including timelines tools and methodologies.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify data migration requirements and dependencies.
2. Data Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL):
Design and implement ETL processes to ensure seamless data migration.
Validate data integrity during extraction transformation and loading stages.
3. Data Mapping and Reconciliation:
Map data between legacy systems and the target core banking system.
Conduct data reconciliation to ensure all data is accurately migrated without loss or corruption.
4. Data Quality Assurance:
Perform data profiling and cleansing to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Identify and resolve data anomalies and inconsistencies.
5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication:
Work closely with database administrators developers and project managers to support migration activities.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders on migration progress challenges and resolutions.
6. Testing and Validation:
Conduct pre and postmigration testing to ensure data correctness.
Support the development and execution of test scripts for user acceptance testing (UAT).
7. Documentation and Reporting:
Create detailed documentation of migration processes including challenges and lessons learned.
Generate reports on migration outcomes and data quality metrics.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Science or related field.
2. 3 years of experience in data migration projects preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
3. Proficiency in SQL and data migration tools (e.g. Talend Informatica SSIS).
4. Experience with core banking systems (e.g. Flexcube T24Finacle) is a strong advantage.
5. Familiarity with data quality tools and practices.
6. Solid understanding of database structures data normalization and optimization techniques.
