We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior technical leader to lead our talented engineering teams and drive the successful delivery of highquality software solutions. This leadership role will play a key part in shaping our technical strategy and ensuring the effective execution of software development initiatives.
As technical leader youre given the unique opportunity to drive the next generation of application platform initiatives in a global SaaS infrastructure. Backed by the might of our teams well provide you with the tools and resources needed to achieve extraordinary results that render a significant impact extending beyond the boundaries of traditional engineering roles.
This position will report to our Manager Software Engineering
What youll do:
Leverage our tech stack to build innovative solutions for the construction industry.
Develop and operate our mission critical construction document management services within the construction documents division. These are some of the most heavily trafficked parts of the Procore SaaS Platform and require attention to software development best practices operational excellence and the highest standards in quality.
Drive critical projects including:
Complex data management systems: Were building a worldclass document management system from the ground up. Youll work through challenges like document intake document management large file manipulations permissions and document revisioning.
Scalability: Were scaling and need engineers who are ready to take on the challenge of working on live core systems with millions of users
Participate in designing and building a system that is aligned with Procores technical vision of a ServiceOriented Architecture
Build maintain and develop a wide series of microservices and are looking for engineers adept at discovering new opportunities and driving them to completion.
What were looking for:
BS degree in Computer Science related discipline or equivalent experience
5 years of combined experience as a Software Engineer with an emphasis on building scalable backend webbased services and related infrastructure
Experience working within global technical teams
Ability to evaluate current technical approaches to solving problems
Experience working collaboratively with teams providing mentorship and guidance to improve the overall reliability of the ecosystem
Understanding the tradeoffs between shortterm and longterm goals and balancing immediate needs with strategic initiatives
Experience in the following technologies with demonstrated expertise and the capacity to lead complex technical initiatives in architecture and design systems:
Service design and scalable deployment in cloudbased software development
Kubernetes Kafka and related web infrastructure technologies
Java Ruby on Rails Typescript Node.js golang & React
Experience with modern web development across the entire spectrum of development testing staging deploying and monitoring
Familiarity with SRE and SRE automation best practices
Experience documenting and bringing team clarity to complex solutions
Experience in working with software platforms and infrastructure at scale (we run thousands of hosts and have millions of users)
Familiarity with additional tech stacks languages etc. are a plus
And generally a curious mind that is driven to innovate and solve customer problems
