Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team at MailerCloud. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in overseeing daytoday accounting operations ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and supporting strategic financial initiatives. This role requires a highly organized detailoriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and amp; Analysis:
- Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
- Analyze financial data identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and financial projections.
General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Perform monthly and yearend closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage intercompany transactions and ensure proper reconciliation between entities.
Accounts Payable and amp; Receivable:
- Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices payments and collections.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payments.
Tax Compliance and amp; Filing:
- Prepare and file corporate tax returns including sales tax VAT and other relevant taxes.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal tax regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors for tax audits and assist in implementing any recommendations.
Financial Controls and amp; Audit:
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare for and manage annual audits providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of accounting policies and procedures.
Cash Flow and amp; Treasury Management:
- Monitor cash flow and assist in cash management activities to ensure sufficient funds for daytoday operations.
- Support treasury functions including managing bank relationships and overseeing banking transactions.
Team Collaboration and amp; Support:
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams including operations HR and sales to provide financial support and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
AdHoc Financial Projects:
- Participate in special projects and financial analysis as needed including mergers and acquisitions costsaving initiatives and system implementations.
- Continuously improve accounting processes and systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Education and amp; Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
- Experience in SaaS or tech industry accounting is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software Zoho Books and amp; QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and tax compliance.
Skills and amp; Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
